Dr. Clinton Kay - Veterinarian

Dr. Kay is a graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine and is owner and Medical Director of SoBo Animal Hospital.

Dr. Kay is passionate about the care of animals and is also an outdoors enthusiast. His childhood and teenage years were spent in New York State where he spent years shadowing his veterinarian father, raising cattle, and enjoying a menagerie of pets. He is an avid nordic skier, cyclist and hiker, and loves to read history and cook. Dr. Kay lives in Boulder with his wife Kathy, and twin daughters Genevieve & Gabrielle. When not working, they can be found hauling the kids around in a bike trailer or camping.

Dr. Terry E. Watrous - Veterinarian

Dr. Watrous graduated magna cum laude with a BS in Biology from the University of Utah. After receiving his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University, he completed an internship in advanced surgery and internal medicine through the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. Dr. Terry Watrous is a Utah native but has called Colorado home for 27 years. While Dr. Watrous enjoys all aspects of clinical practice, his special interests are in pain management, orthopedics and internal medicine. He is also expanding SoBo’s capabilities in minimally invasive diagnostics and surgery using endoscopy. Dr. Watrous is a member of numerous local and national professional organizations and is also a member of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management. Dr. Watrous shares his Broomfield home with 4 special cats – Mr. Big, One-eyed Jack, Zip, Kiki and two Catahoula Leopard dogs, Sadie and Tupelo. When not working, Dr. Watrous enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, fishing and also does volunteer work with the American Cancer Society.

Doreen - Veterinary Technician, CVT

Doreen moved to Colorado from Pennsylvania in the 1980's where she worked with Veterinarians in the Allentown and Philadelphia areas. She then started work at the Adobe and Alpine Animal Hospitals, and continued at Adobe with Dr. Bock for the past 13 years. Doreen has two grown children, Jo and Nick, two golden retrievers, Kali and Archie, a cat Bey, and many koi. She lives in Westminster with her long time husband Ed. When not working, she enjoys tending to her gardens and koi pond, and is an avid reader. Her compassion for animals has kept her in the veterinary field for many years. It is a great pleasure to have her as part of the staff here at South Boulder Animal Hospital.

Andrea - Veterinary Technician, CVT

Andrea grew up just outside of Los Angeles then lived the past 10 years in Iowa where she graduated with an A.A.S. degree in Veterinary Technology from Kirkwood Community College. Shortly after graduating she moved to Colorado where she has fallen in love with the clean mountain air. When she is not working, Andrea spends her time reading, writing and playing video games with her husband Nicholas while their cat Hiro helps (at least that is how he sees it!).

Amber - Veterinary Technician, CVT

Amber graduated from PIMA Medical Institute as a Certified Veterinary Assistant. In her spare time she enjoys four wheeling, camping, and fishing with her friends and family. She also enjoys walking and going to dog parks with her dog “Bruiser”. Amber looks to expand her knowledge and go to Veterinary school to become a DVM.

Stephanie - Office Manager

After having been away for four years to take care of a growing family, Stephanie is now thrilled to come back to work with Dr. Kay at the new SoBo Animal Hospital as office manager. Having groomed pets in college, Stephanie came to work with Dr. Kay in 2002. It was there that she became a veterinary technician assistant then office manager. When not playing with her energetic daughter, Stephanie works as a freelance illustrator to some of the major athletic apparel companies in Colorado. Stephanie and her family recently lost their beloved dog, Petey, and are now proud owners of two very sweet guinea pigs.

Shellee - Reception

Originally from Ogden, Utah, Shellee has been in Colorado for 25 years, 14 of those years with us at the clinic. She is the loving owner of both cats and ferrets and is a great source of ferret knowledge for both our animal hospital and many ferret rescues. She is now the owner of the salon Sheer Reflextions and her passions include animals, landscaping and racing cars with the Sports Car Club of America. Shellee is devoted to animal care, but also finds it very rewarding at SoBo working one-on-one with the clients!
